With just about 55 games through the season, we will take a look at the best and tops in positions in the NBA today. This is the 10StarPicks All NBA 1st Team.
PG – Luka Doncic
33 ppg / 8.9 rpg / 8.4 apg / 49.7 FG% / 1.42 PCTP (Player court time production) Score greater than 1.0 is a superstar level.
Luka is hands down by far the most complete player in the league. Some can argue that Steph Curry should be listed here instead, but Curry is a scorer, that’s it. Luka individually, leads the league in points, he ranks higher than Curry and rebounds and assists per game. Luka is also in the top 12 in steals at 1.5 /game. The only thing that Curry truly is better than Luka is three-point shooting but realistically Curry is better than pretty much everybody at that so that’s a given.
SG – Donovan Mitchell
28.3 ppg / 4 rpg / 4.8 apg / 48.1 FG% / 1.07 PCTP (Player court time production) Score greater than 1.0 is a superstar level. One of the major underdog sleepers in the NBA this season.
Mitchell is basically a SF in an SG body. He is multi-dimensional and a SG who can hit shots off the dribble and take it to the cup. Mitchell can create his own shots, he also defends pretty well. That’s why Mitchell is here, instead of Jaylen Brown or Anthony Edwards, who are both tremendous players, but Mitchell is a little better.
SF – Jayson Tatum
31.1 ppg / 8.7 rpg / 4.4 apg / 46.5 FG% / 1.22 PCTP (Player court time production) Score greater than 1.0 is a superstar level
Tatum has become the best SF in the NBA and that includes better than LeBron. Tatum is better than LeBron in scoring and 3p shooting. Truth be told at this point in his career, James can’t guard Tatum but Tatum can cover James.
PF – Giannis Antetokounmpo
31.3 ppg / 12 rpg / 5.3 apg / 52.7 FG% / 1.50 PCTP (Player court time production) Score greater than 1.0 is a superstar level
The Bucks are a higher seed at the moment than a stacked Brooklyn team, which shows to me, Antetokounmpo is carrying his team. Antetokounmpo is just better individually than Durant right now. That’s not a knock on KD because he’s great, but Antetokounmpo can do it all, especially taking over a game and rebounding.
C – Nikola Jokic
25.1 ppg / 10.9 rpg / 9.9 apg / 62.9 FG% / 1.42 PCTP (Player court time production) Score greater than 1.0 is a superstar level
This is a odds on no-brainer there is no Center in the league that’s even coming close to touching the 290lb center at this point.
And he’s dominating the center position without dominating the ball. The ball is in and out of his hands relatively quickly, he makes quick decisions and is always a lot of fun to watch. And for a lot of people who think or thought that Embiid would be or is better than him – Jokic is better in literally every facet of the game.
