The Rangers just got sweep 3 games at Toronto where they returned to the scene of the crime after the Blue Jays defeated the Rangers in the 2015 AL Play-offs thanks to the Jose Bautista’s game winning home run and ‘bat-flip! The Rangers went on to go 5-1 before meeting Toronto at home. The Blue Jays won game 1, 5-0. Then the Rangers won the next two games including the infamous ‘Odor punch’ of Jose Bautista! The MLB Texas Rangers have gone 16-7 and are in first place in the AL West. Rookie outfielder Nomar Mazara has help jump start the offense hitting .309 with a .846 OPS.
He has 9 HR’s and 24 RBI’s in just 165 at bats! Some more great news for the Rangers is the return of pitcher Yu Darvish who is returning from Tommy John surgery. In his first start back Darvish gave up 3 hits in 5 innings pitched, striking out 7 in a 5-2 victory over Pittsburgh. The Rangers are getting hot at the right time of the season.
If the can get their closer situation worked out the Rangers should defend their AL West Title in 2016!
