Arizona Cardinals Could Open the season 8-0

The Arizona Cardinals are unbeaten and leading the NFL in scoring at 42 points a game. Right now, I’d rank Carson Palmer as the No. 3 QB behind only Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.

I understand there’s a certain bogus quality to the Cardinals since they’ve been fortunate enough to open against the Saints (Brees at less than 100 percent), Bears (Cutler hurt) and 49ers (Kaepernick with an all-time stinker).

But guess what?

The Cardinals’ schedule stays easy all the way up to their bye in Week 9.

Arizona is a touchdown favorite against St. Louis Sunday. The Cardinals then get the Lions, who likely will be 0-4, demoralized and beat-up after playing at Seattle on Monday.

In Week 6, the Cards draw the Steelers, who still aren’t likely to have Big Ben. In Week 7, the Cardinals get the Ravens, who would be 0-4 if they lose to the Steelers.

Then in Week 8 the Cardinals play the hapless Browns, who could have Johnny Manziel starting by then.

So don’t be shocked if the Cardinals own the best record in football after eight weeks at 8-0. The schedule certainly lays out for them.
